Heading up our drone practice group is Eric Hanscom, a patent and trademark attorney at InterContinental IP, a California-based law firm.
He has spoken on drone law and the intellectual property aspects of the drone business at trade shows and conventions on three continents, and more recently at the California State Bar Intellectual Property Meeting.
Eric became an interested party in the Drone community in 2013. His drone photography and videography have won accolades in several drone photography contests and have appeared on CNN, as AUVSI’s centerspread, and numerous other newspapers and magazines.
He was recently honored with the #1 Top Pilot Interview by Dronestagram, the leading website for drone photography.
Eric has been a Parrot Bebop Ambassador since 2014, and was the #1 Rated Top Pilot in Dronestagram for over a year stretching from January of 2016 to April of 2017. Eric is also an active participant in SkyPixel, Travel by Drone, Travel With Drone, - and is a past winner of DJI’s Personal Stories 2015 video contest and Dronestagram’s 2016 photo contest.
Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Eric was a US, European and World Champion Kayaker, and currently splits time between his Carlsbad, CA office and his resort in Thailand, Thai-West Resort.
Drones for Good - Eric is an internationally sought speaker on drone-related intellectual property issues, his “Ladder Side of Drones” project in Thailand using drones to perform inspection of Buddhist Temples has inspired him to continue with environmental changes at the Salton Sea.
